Well here I am, half a month of serious working out and dieting and I'm down 5 lbs. That seems right on target to me, healthy, normal, something I can be proud of and expect to maintain. For the first time in my life I'm starting to like healthy foods. Not necessarily for the fact that I feel good having eaten them (proud of myself) but more from how my body feels. Since I've started this I haven't felt bloated, heavy, sluggish or having stomach problems. That's a big change from at least the last few years of my life. Hopefully I can teach myself well enough this way that I'm not doing this just to look better but also feel better.

Being a computer kind of guy, have you looked into getting a Garmin sports watch? I use one for running and biking and it makes it easier to stay motivated when you can download all this data into your computer and analyze it and plan for the next weeks improvements. Also, look into SporTracks software.

Hey it looks like my exercising and dieting is working so far. 5lbs down for the first week is pretty darn good - probably all water! I feel a lot better and think for the first time in my life I\'m starting to have an idea what people mean when they talk about \"runner\'s high\". At the end of a workout I have a hard time quitting, feeling too good. Here\'s to another good week, hopefully.
